The Dangote Foundation plans to spend N10 billion on empowerment of vulnerable women across the country, the Chairman of the foundation Alh Aliko Dangote has disclosed.
The gesture targets 20,000 women across all the 25 local government areas of the state.
Speaking when he announced the disbursement of N250m to the 25, 000 beneficiaries yesterday in Minna, the business mogul said the gesture was part of his corporate responsibility aimed at complementing the effort of both federal and state governments in bringing succour to vulnerable women in Nigeria.
According to him, each benefitting women gets N10, 000 free without any collateral to enhance their economic status.
Also speaking at the occasion, Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello commended the foundation for affecting the lives of millions of vulnerable women positively, while urging other chief executives of thriving corporations to emulate the gesture.
Governor Bello urged the beneficiaries to utilize the resources judiciously to achieve the purpose it is meant for.
