Dangote donates 6,000 bags of rice to vulnerable groups in Osun

A business mogul, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has donated 30,000 units of 10kg packs of rice (6,000 standard bags of 50kg) to vulnerable group in Osun State as part of palliatives to cushion the effect of hardship on the people of the state. 

The 30,000 pieces of 10kg packs of rice were delivered to the secretariat of Osun State Muslim Community along the Ring Road in Osogbo, the state capital. 

The Dangote rice palliatives was sent to all local government areas across the state for distribution to vulnerable people including the street beggars, Okada/kękę riders, retirees and the unemployed as well as widows and widowers.

The rice was also distributed to mosques and churches. It was also distributed to Hausa, Fulani, Igbo communities and other vulnerable groups in the state.

The President of Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustafa Olawuyi, who supervised the distribution, lauded the Dangote Group for the gesture. 

Olawuyi said, “We received 6,000 bags of rice (30,000 units of 10kg packs) from the Dangote Group as palliatives for the people of Osun State, given the economic hardship in the country.

“We immediately commenced the distribution to all local governments areas and organizations in the state and the 30,000 pieces of 10kg packs of rice has reached the people of the state in their various localities.”

“The rice was distributed to people irrespective of their faith or ethnicity. Muslims and Christians benefited from the gesture.”

Olawuyi called on other wealthy Nigerians, organizations and companies to emulate Dangote’s good gesture and help the masses, especially during this trying period.
