The reappointment of Professor Umar Garba Danbatta as the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), has been lauded as a testament to his track records in consolidating the gains of the country’s communication sector.
This was made known by Malam Balarabe Shehu, the Chairman, Dambatta/Makoda Zauren Tuntuba Initiative.
Shehu, who said the NCC boss had succeeded in transforming the nation’s telecommunications sector in line with its digital economic policy and strategy, however, urged him to redouble his efforts in developing the country’s digital communication, especially now that coronavirus pandemic is posing a serious threat to its economy.
“Considering the record performance of Professor Umar Danbatta, especially on telecommunications development, consumers’ interest and investors’ attraction cannot be quantified”, he said.
Shehu also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the reappointment and his effort in the fight against COVID-19.
Professor Danbatta, who hails from Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano state, was first appointed in 2015.
