The late Dan Iyan Zazzau, Alhaji Yusuf Ladan, who died on Tuesday at the age of 86, has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The late veteran broadcaster died Tuesday morning at his residence in Kaduna after a protracted illness.

He was buried at the Muslim cemetery in Tudun Wada, Kaduna after a funeral prayer held after Zuhr (noon) prayers at the Maiduguri Road Jumu’at mosque.

District heads, religious leaders, serving and retired government‎ officials, including veteran broadcasters, attended the funeral prayer, led by a famous cleric, Dr Ahmad Mamoud Gumi.

Alhaji Yusuf Ladan, a former district head of Kabala, was a veteran broadcaster and former General Manager of Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).

Late Ladan was one of the first set of broadcasters in Northern Nigeria, having worked with Broadcasting Company of Northern Nigeria (BCNN) since early 1960s.

Late Yusuf Ladan got his first graduate Diploma in Journalism in India.

He left behind three wives, 20 children and many grandchildren.
