Dammy Krane regains freedom after VeryDarkMan’s apology to Davido

Nigerian singer, Oyindamola Johnson Emmanuel, popularly known as Dammy Krane, has been released from police custody.

This comes a week after his detention at the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCID) in Abuja.

Dammy Krane was said to be have been held for defamation against his colleague, Davido.

After his release, the singer, in a post via X on Thursday, expressed regret for his actions.

“I am sorry about everything, to my fans (I hope I still have fans lol). To my fans, if I still have, I am sorry. Moving on, expect good music from me and music only,” he wrote

While apologising to Nigerians, he acknowledged the high expectations placed on him and admitted his mistakes

He wrote, “I want to apologize to Nigerians for the negative energy I have put up on the media before today. I know a lot was expected of me but I messed up. I wish I could take back the hand of time, but only God can, so I will do what I can, which is to apologize.

“I’m starting a prison reform foundation for the illegally detained.”

Daily Trust had reported how Dammy Krane accused Davido of arresting him for defamation.

Lamenting on X, the singer asked netizens to hold Davido responsible if anything happens to him.

Following this, popular social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, alleged that Dammy Krane was arrested and detained by the police at the behest of Davido.

Verydarkman pleaded on Dammy Krane’s behalf and urged Davido to release him.

The fight between the duo started in 2023 after Dammy Krane called Davido out over an alleged debt.
