The Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung has urged the Nigerian Army to seek for support, partnership and sponsors from the private sector for the forthcoming Nigerian Army Sports Festival, termed ‘NAFEST 2016’ to help reduce the financial burden for organising the fiesta.
Dalung, who stated this while receiving members of the Central Organising Planning Committee led by their Chairman, Maj Gen Hassan Umoru in his office, described the Nigerian Army as a partner in sports development.
while assuring the delegation of his maximum support for NAFEST 2016, Dalung appealed to the Military authority to help salvage many sports facilities in the barracks across the country which have been in bad shape, due to lack of proper maintenance.
Earlier, Umoru said the visit was to solicit for the ministry’s support and permission to use the facilities at the National Stadium as well solicit for technical assistance from the pool of professionals in the ministry.
