Daily Trust’s Executive Director/Editor-in-Chief, Naziru Mikailu Abubakar, is among outstanding professionals that made the list of 100 Nigeria’s top Changemakers, 2022.
Naziru joined Daily Trust in January 2020 when he took over from Mannir Dan Ali after an illustrious career with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). Since he assumed office, he has championed a seamless succession plan that saw to the complete exit of the company’s owners/managers while steering the introduction of new programmes including the Trust Plus.
Others notable Nigerians on the list of 100 top Changemakers are Arise TV presenter and columnist, Dr. Abati; Publishers of Sahara News and the Cable, Omoleye Sowore and Simon Kolawole respectively.
“Changemakers: 100 Nigerians Leading Transformational Change, 2022”, is an annual biographical compendium that recognises ingenious Nigerians leading transformational change and their selection is based on their accomplishments in the years gone by.
The Project Director and CEO of Profiles & Biographies, Kammonke Abam, said his firm has led the way in profiling some of the most outstanding Nigerians from around the globe who are making impact and contributing to the development of the society, informing that Changemakers is an addition to the bouquet of biographical compendia published by the firm.
He said, “Changemakers are the people we think are set to change the world, and some who are already knee-deep doing exactly that in different fields of endeavour. They include trailblazing scientists, iconic entertainers and artists, ground-breaking engineers and change-makers, media moguls, and thought leaders.”

Other outstanding Nigerians that made the list include Grammy award-winning Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, songwriter and performing artiste Burna Boy; another of Nigeria’s musical icons, Davido; the Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty, Olu Tsola Emiko, Ogiame Atuwatse III; the Pastor of House on the Rock, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, acclaimed novelist, Chimamanda Adichie; and the co-founder of Flutterwave, Agboola Olugbenga.
