The Assistant General Manager, Northern Operations of Media Trust Limited (publishers of Daily Trust and other titles), Abdullahi Mainasara, has been conferred with the Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna Platinum Excellence/Leadership Award by the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Students Representative Council (ABUSRC).
Speaking while presenting the award at the Kano regional office of Media Trust on Thursday, the president of the Council, Jibril Idris Kawuje, said the award became necessary given the contributions Mainasara had given to the development of humanity in his immediate domain and the society.

“We find him worthy of recognition, that is why we are presenting this award of honor for him to do more and the likes of him to see what we are doing to serve as a source of motivation. The award is not for him alone, but also to Daily Trust.
“Owing to the fact that Daily Trust is the most popular newspaper and known for the dissemination of facts and truthful information, we found him and the organisation worth celebrating,” Kawuje said.
Mainasara thanked the students for finding him worthy of the honour, promising that the gesture would encourage him to do more.
