Alhaji Nafi’u Ya’u Abdullahi, an avid reader of Daily Trust Newspaper has said he is excited over the imminent launching of Trust TV.
He said the development was an idea long overdue.
Alhaji Nafi’u, who said he has never missed an edition of the Daily Trust in the past 16-years said he has been praying that one day the paper would establish a TV and radio station to enable those who could not read newspaper watch or listen to programmes produced by MediaTrust.
“When I read in the paper that Daily Trust TV would be launched, I was so happy and full of excitement. That has been my wish and prayers.
“The world has changed now. TV reaches audiences more than the newspaper because you don’t have to be enlightened before you understand the content of TV.”
He said the rich content of the Daily Trust newspaper had been one of the factors that made him maintain his patronage.
“For a long period, I compared the reports of Daily Trust and other newspapers and realised that Trust is more objective.
“Objectivity, fairness and balance of the paper make me to be buying it every day. There is no day that I missed an edition of the paper in these years. Even if travel, I make sure my vendor keeps a copy for me. I remember when I travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, I told my vendor to keep all my copies.”
Alh. Nahi’u further advised Media Trust to ensure that the content of the TV is rich to enable it to attract more viewers and compete with other TV stations in the country. He said: “I am advising that the content of the TV be educative and enlightening. Let there be programmes that people will like, programmes that will promote unity in the country.
He said he would like to attend the launching of the new television station. “I wish to be present when the TV will be commissioned. If I am invited, I will insha Allah attend to wish them well.”
