The Chairman of the FCT Council Nigeria Union of Journalists, Emmanuel Ogbeche, confirmed the journalist’s death on his Facebook page, saying the deceased fought bravely.

He also commended his wife who stood by the pen pusher till the end.

“I hear you have gone the way of all mortals. It is a sad one, but you needed the rest. But it has pleased God to call you home. May you find rest eternal,” he said.

A former Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Jimoh Moshood, said Mutum was a friend to everyone.

“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. May the good Lord grant him paradise and be with the family he left behind,” Moshood said.
