An Islamic Scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has advised governors in the north of the country to stop doing any activity that will put almajiri in difficulty.
Sheikh Dahiru gave the advice at the closing of this year’s Ramadan Tafsir.
He said it was against the laws of the land to allow other people to seek education anywhere they liked but denied that to the almajiri.

He said the repatriation of almajiri was unconstitutional because they are Nigerians.
The scholar said the constitution allowed all Nigerians, without discrimination, to live in the city they want and practise the religion of their choice without the hindrance of any kind.
He warned the governors to stop the repatriation or doing anything that will put the almajiri in difficulty or else they will face the consequences from almighty Allah.
