Dad said I’m still legend despite Grammy loss – Davido

Famous Nigerian Afrobeats musician, David Adeleke aka Davido, said his father still sees him as a legend despite not winning Grammy awards.

Davido also said he was pleased with himself for being nominated for the 66th global music award held last Sunday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Davido alongside four other ace Nigerian artises, Olamide, Ayra, Asake and Burna boy, did not win any of the three categories in which he was nominated.

In his most recent interview with Rolling Stone, the Grammy nominee talked about his rise to fame.

“Merely receiving a nomination makes me feel good about myself. Initially, all I wanted is for my song to be played on the radio once or twice; nonetheless, it’s incredible and entirely God’s doing that it has reached this level.

“No matter what happens, son, you are still a legend,” my father told me over the phone yesterday. He is a huge fan, so yes,” he remarked.
