Cyril Abraham emerged as the winner of the just concluded 2022 Abuja Mountain Biking Festival held over the weekend.

The festival was organised by Chaingang Cycling Club, the only mountain cycling club in Nigeria that was founded in 2016.

The festival, which was a 40km off-road cycling race was categorised into a male pro race and a female enthusiastic race that started at the Jabi Lake from where the cyclists moved to Life Camp en route Karsana, Gwarinpa, made a turn back into Karsana to climax at Life Camp.

There were 23 participants who did their best but there were only six runners-up, 3 from each category.

In the male pro category, Cyril came tops and was closely followed by Mohammed Badamasi and Emmanuel Aba who came in 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

In the female enthusiastic category, Comfort Inyang came first while Stephanie Ibe Chibuzor and Camilla Corradin ended the race in the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

In a chat with the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Richard Brownson said the club seeks sponsorship as they try to make some positive impacts on communities.

“We make sure that we live a mark behind in any community we pass through. We have been involved in some school projects in these communities.

“We have joined forces with the cancer drive and have done tree planting. We are still doing things with focus on the inner cities of Abuja. However, we are open to sponsorship as we bid to impact these communities,” he said.
