A commercial cyclist, simply identified as Yahuza, has been stabbed to death by suspected motorcycle thieves at a forest near Pegi in the Kuje Area Council of the FCT.
A resident of Pegi, Danjuma Enoch, said the incident happened on Saturday and that a farmer who was on his way to the farm discovered the body of the cyclist dumped inside the bush in the area.
He said the farmer alerted some cyclists at Pegi, who later mobilised to the area to identify the corpse, adding that a deep cut was found on the stomach and chest of the late cyclist.
He said two motorcycle thieves who pretended to be passengers boarded the deceased’s motorcycle from the Tipper Garage area of Kuje to Pegi, adding that the thieves upon getting to a forest, one of them brought out a knife and stabbed the cyclist.

He said vigilantes were later invited alongside with the relations of the deceased to evacuate the body for burial at Pegi.
The spokeswoman for the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, is yet to respond to an enquiry on the incident as she didn’t reply to a text message sent to her up till the time of filing the report.
