According to an eyewitness, the motorist rushed to the Kwali Police Station for fear of getting lynched by angry people at the scene of the accident.
The eyewitness told City News that the accident occurred at about 11:32 a.m. when an 18-seater commuter Toyota Hiace bus on high speed lost control and crushed the cyclist to death.
He said officers of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) who arrived the scene after the accident, took the cyclist who died on the spot to the hospital.
Our reporter learnt that the bus driver, as soon as the accident has occurred,  made a U-turn and drove to Kwali Police Station to report the accident.
When contacted, Yangoji unit commander of the FRSC, Austine Chukwudi Okeke, confirmed the incident, attributing it to reckless driving by the bus driver.
He said the corpse of the cyclist was handed over to the his relatives for burial.
In a related development, three persons were also injured on Tuesday morning in another accident which occurred in Manderegi village, along Abuja-Lokoja road.
An eyewitness said the accident occurred at about 9:45 a.m. when the tyre of a Toyota Corolla vehicle on top speed bursted.
The witness said the driver consequently lost control and hit a tree, injuring three passengers.
Abaji unit commander of the FRSC, Moses Audu, who confirmed the accident, said the three injured victims were taken to Abaji General Hospital for medical attention.
