A commercial cyclist, identified as Saleh, was crushed by a car at Abaji general hospital junction, on Abuja-Lokoja road.
A witness said the incident happened on Saturday around 2:12pm when the cyclist was crossing the highway.
He said the Mercedes Benz SUV which was coming from Gwagwalada axis ran over Saleh and he died on the spot.
The Abaji unit commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), ACC Abubakar Shehu Dogondaji, confirmed the incident.
He said the corpse of the cyclist was handed over to the family for burial, while the driver was arrested by the police.
