A commercial cyclist, identified simply as Nura, and two others have been arrested by vigilantes for allegedly stealing transformer cables in Paso community in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
A resident, Shadrack Bala, said the incident happened on Sunday around 10pm when the hoodlums invaded a transformer and allegedly removed its cables.
He said, “It was a resident who saw them when they took the cables and hid them inside an uncompleted building beside his house who alerted the vigilantes.”
He said some mob upon getting information about the arrest of the mobilized themselves to the scene to lynch the suspect but were prevented the vigilantes.

He added that the suspects who confessed stealing cables from other transformers within the metropolis of the council were later handed over to security agents.
The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, was yet to comment on the incident.
