“The AFIS will eliminate those who may have registered more than once thereby bringing the figures slightly down,” it said.

He gave the number of people who applied for re-issuance of PVCs at 25,105 while 6,475 applied for transfer.

It noted that the permanent voter’s cards for those who had registered in 2017 were ready for collection, adding that they were working assiduously to produce for those who were registered this year.

He noted that 32,419 were still unclaimed in the state.

However, in a phone interview with Daily Trust, Musa said the electoral empire had given ample opportunity for eligible people to register.

According to him, there was no political party that complained about the exercise as they were all carried along in all its activities.

He expressed their readiness to continue with the registration if it was extended again.
