The Federal Operations Unit Zone A of the Nigeria Customs Service said it has seized a new Toyota Prado worth N105 million from smugglers in Ogun State.

The Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was allegedly being smuggled into Nigeria from the Republic of Benin when it was intercepted by officials of the service.

Mr Hussein Kehinde Ejibunu made the disclosure on Friday at the Zonal Headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, shortly before he bowed out as the controller in charge of the unit.

Speaking at a brief event to mark his exit, Ejibunu, said the owner of the jeep had been given a 30-day window to provide proof that he actually paid duty to the government for the importation of the vehicle or risk forfeiture to the government.
