Customs seizes contraband worth over N50 million in Bauchi

The Federal Operations Unit (FOU)‎  of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Zone D in Bauchi has seized smuggled goods worth over N50 million.

Zone D comprises of Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau, Benue and Nassarawa‎.

The seized goods include 1,963 cartons of spaghetti, 780‎ jerrycans of vegetable oil, 300 bags of parboiled rice concealed in BUA sugar bags and 90 bales of second hand clothing.

The goods were allegedly being transported ‎in five vehicles, including three J5 buses, which were arrested transporting 90 bales of the second hand clothing‎,with each one carrying 30 bales each.

A Mercede‎s truck was also arrested conveying the concealed 300 bags of rice while a DAF truck was impounded by the Customs with the spaghetti and cooking oil.
