The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Niger/Kogi Area Command, has seized 101 vehicles and food items worth N755,377,866. million.
The command’s Controller, Abubakar Mohammed Adamu, revealed this while showcasing the seizures at the command’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
He also said the command was able to recover N74,919,135.00m from the Demand Notices (DN) raised and the disposal of seized PMS.
The controller, who noted that the items were seized in the last three months of his assumption of office, said eight smugglers had been arrested and were being prosecuted.
He listed the food items seized to include 300 packs of Heinz beans, 50 packs of tomato ketchup, 40 cartons of foreign wine and 22 cartons of spaghetti.
Also seized were 100 packs of Plum peeled tomatoes, 100 cartons of mushroom pieces and stems, 38 cartons of basmati rice, 108 packs of whipped cream, 23 cartons of Skittles salad cream, 23 cartons of cookies of various kind and 18 packs of Nescafe.
