The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise, Leke Abejide (APC, Kogi), has disclosed that members of the committee are always under pressure to secure slots during customs recruitment.
Hon Abejide disclosed this Friday while addressing journalists on the ongoing recruitment exercise by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).
- ‘Buhari to assent to amended National Health Insurance bill soon’
- How bandits killed worshippers in Niger mosque
He said the current recruitment was not a general recruitment but a restricted one based on some available vacancies in certain cadres.
Abejide said each of the 774 local government areas in the country was allotted four candidates, adding that the NCS would not recruit beyond the allotted number.
However, the lawmaker explained that a lot of pressure was always being mounted on him and other members of the committee to lobby for slots.
