Nigerian Customs Service can generate N1.2 trillion annually if leakages are blocked, the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hamid Ali (rtd) has said.
He said that the target given to them for this year was N944 billion but they were able to rake N747 billion in 11 months.
Ali who was addressing officers and men of the Sokoto Area Command at the Illela international boarder, said they could generate over N1.2 trillion annually if leakages could be traced and blocked.
He therefore tasked them to shun corruption and work towards increasing revenue generation, noting that this would give him the courage to meet Mr President and ask for the enhancement of their welfare and salary.
