Customs rakes in N20.942bn revenue in Ogun

The Nigeria Customs Service (NSC), Ogun II Area Command, yesterday hinted that it has generated N20.942 billion revenue between January and August this year.

The figure is against N14.651bn generated in the corresponding period of last year.

The Area Controller, Bisi Alade, disclosed this on Thursday, at the command’s headquarters in Abeokuta, during the visit of Zonal Coordinator of Zone ‘A’, who is an Assistant Comptroller General, SA Yusuf.

Alade told Yusuf and his entourage that the command has improved in his core mandate, which include revenue collection through excise duty.

He disclosed that there are 61 duty paying factories within the command while five new factories are at different stages of registration.

Alade also named three free trade zones under his watch including Ogun Guangdong, Celplas and Flour Mills.

Yusuf applauded the revenue generation drive of the command and called on the leadership as well as the operatives not to rest on their oars.
