Customs intercepts N94m worth drugs, donkey skins

Men of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) have intercepted drugs worth over N94m and 1,080 pieces of donkey skin at Geza, Dandi LGA of Kebbi State.

They also seized 371 parcels of cannabis sativa known as Indian hemp at the Kawara waterside area of Zuru LGA of the state.

Other items seized include 10 sacks of snuff, 16 bales of second-hand clothes, 37 bags of foreign rice and 300 litres of PMS.

While handing over the seized drugs to the NDLEA commander in the state, Sule Usman; NCS Comptroller, Kebbi Area Command, Dr Ben Oramalugo, said the duty paid value of the items is N164,815,629 while the seized drug is valued at N94,854,409.

He said a suspect was arrested in connection with the smuggling of 50 parcels of cannabis sativa.
