Customs intercepts 9 Benin-bound fuel trucks

The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted nine trucks loaded with 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol being smuggled to Benin Republic.

The NSC Controller, Ogun State, Mr. Micheal Agbara, who disclosed this, said 18 trucks of rice valued at N397m were also intercepted.

Mr. Agbara told newsmen during a briefing that the command seized 86 units of tokunbo vehicles, 1,225 litres of diesel and 75 litres of kerosene.

He added that the seizures were made notwithstanding the attacks on customs officers during the #EndSARS protest by hoodlums.
