Customs intercepts 11 containers with expired items in 6 months

The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on Monday, said it impounded 11 containers in the last six months containing prohibited items such as expired and unregistered pharmaceuticals, shoes, used clothing, armoured cables and frozen poultry products.

Addressing journalists, the Area Controller, Babatunde Olomu, said the seizures had a total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N424.12bn.

Olumo disclosed that it was against 42 containers that were seized with a DPV of NI.4bn in the corresponding period in 2023.
