Customs impounds N2.8bn goods

The Controller of the Federal Unit Operations (FOU), Zone B Kaduna, Dalha Wada Chedi, has announced the successful impoundment of smuggled items valued at N2,888,460,294.68 Duty Paid Value in the zone.

During his inaugural news briefing at the zone, the comptroller revealed that the unit has seized a total of 264 items of 21 different types since his assumption of office.

Among the impounded items are vehicles, drugs, foreign rice, foreign spaghetti, second-hand clothing, among others.

He called on all stakeholders, particularly traders and business people, to refrain from activities that violate customs laws.
