Two persons have been arrested in Kano by customs officials over the smuggling of two exotic luxury vehicles worth about N100m
Displaying the vehicles, the coordinator, Strike Force Zone B, Deputy Comptroller Oseni Olorukoba, said the vehicles were tracked through the intelligence mechanism of the force.
He said it is disheartening that one of the vehicles alone cost N63m but the owner could not afford to pay a meagre duty but chose to smuggle them using diplomatic corps number plates.
He explained that those arrested were on administrative bail but the cars are to be forfeited to the federal government.
He said the force, within the last three months, impounded contraband with duty paid value of N786,911,648 in Kano and Jigawa axis.
