The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Katsina/Kaduna command has generated N852 million revenue for August surpassing it’s target and that of previous month of July, the command’s Comptroller, Oyeleke Abdulrazaq, has said.
Speaking with newsmen on the activities of the command, the new controller said the set target of N342m was surpassed given the re-invigorated and re-dedication to service by men and officers of the command.
On anti-smuggling efforts, the command was able to record 81 seizures with Duty Paid Value worth N32.7million.
A breakdown of the seizure include 606 bags of Rice, 239 bags of Sugar, 73 bales of cloths, 327 gallons of Vegetable oil, 28 motor vehicles, 1 truck and 2 motor cycles.
Abdulrazak called on public to see smuggling activities as harm to the economy noting that the recent efforts to bring it to the barest minimal level was aimed at advancing the fortune of the nation.
