The Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone B, Kaduna of Nigerian Customs Service arrested one suspect and seized 2,348 sacks of donkey meat in the state.
The Zone B Controller Albashir Hamisu said the key suspect arrested with the items has been handed over to the police for legal action as directed by the Controller General of Customs Hameed Ali.

Albashir, who disclosed this at the zone headquarters during news briefing, said 126 parcels and 12 sacks of Indian hemp have been handed over to NDLEA for further investigation.
He explained that through credible information from patriotic members of the public, those officers and men of the zone, were able to make the seizure which include 144 smuggled items worth N251,701, 377.33 from various locations of Zone B from March 24 to 23, 2022.
He listed other seized items as 3700 sachets of Tramadol, 460 sachets of D5 Tablets, 1,100 bags of 50kg foreign parboiled rice, 18 vehicles, 41 cartons of foreign spaghetti and Macaroni, amongst other items.
He warned that the smugglers are now desperate but assured that his officers are ready to protect the county’s borders.
