Suspected cultists have murdered a police sergeant at Igbeba, Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Our correspondent in Abeokuta reports that the sergeant’s murder is coming barely four days after a police escort was killed by kidnappers, who abducted four Chinese expatriates at a village in Odeda.

It was gathered that the cop was targeted and killed by those he identified as suspected cultists in the area on Saturday.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
According to him, the police sergeant, whose identity was not disclosed, was targeted and attacked around 11 pm on Saturday.
Oyeyemi said a suspect had been arrested in connection with the murder, adding that other members of the gang are still being hunted.
