Security operatives in Bayelsa State have rescued a young girl who was locked up and sexually molested at gunpoint by suspected cultists.
The operatives of the Bayelsa State Vigilante Service said the 13-year-old girl (name withheld), a native of Nembe Local Government Area of the state, was locked up at a hotel facility along Bossy Water Road in Tombia area of Yenagoa, the state capital.

The vigilante team also arrested a suspected culprit, Mr. Christopher Abraham, a 37-year-old native of Ndoro community in Ekeremor Local Government Area of the state and handed him over to men of operation Doo-Akpo, a police special security division in the state.
Chairman of the State Vigilante Service, Hon. Doubiye Alagba, who led members of his team on the operation, confirmed that the teenage girl was rescued at the facility, while the suspect, who was in possession of a gun, phones, money and other items, was arrested.
He disclosed that the suspect has already confessed that he and his accomplice, who is now at large, are members of the bobos cult group.
The suspect, Mr. Christopher Abraham, claimed that the victim is his girlfriend and he has been spending money on her until he discovered that she cheats on him by going out with other men.
He also claimed that the gun in his possession belongs to his friend, identified as Efe, who is now at large.
When contacted, the police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, promised to confirm from Operation Doo-Akpo and revert to our reporter.
