Cultists beat guard to death in Lagos

Suspected secret cult gang members, on Thursday, beat to death a security guard attached to a popular drinking joint, Yem Fem, at Alasia area of Ijanikin, Lagos State.

It was gathered that the security man had allegedly put up a fight with the cultists minutes after they stormed the bar around 3am.

It was alleged that four armed men had entered the bar through a bush part from behind the compound and were heading to the store room when the guard stopped them.

It was further gathered that the hoodlums tied up the guard after they overpowered him before beating him up with an iron rod.

But the police said they are suspecting murder and not robbery as nothing was stolen from the drinking bar after the incident.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident, as a result the injury the guard sustained from the beatings, he later died on his way to the hospital.
