Civil society organizations have called on government at all levels to improve access to quality health services in the country.
Health Systems Consulting Limited, and the Legislative Network for Universal Health Coverage Nigeria, and other non-governmental organizations made the call yesterday during their march in Abuja to commemorate the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day.
Dr. Nkata Chuku of the Health Systems Consulting Limited said Universal Health Coverage was about ensuring that every Nigerian has access to quality health care, when they need it irrespective of their economic status.
“Whether they have money to pay for it at that point or not, the only way you can have universal health coverage is to first have funding to be able to provide those services and secondly to have facilities that can deliver quality health care,” he said.
