CSOs lauds President Buhari’s anti-corruption fight

The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations for Justice and Equity (CCSO-JE) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari on the fight against corruption since he assumed office.

It therefore, called on eligible voters in Nigeria to massively re-elect him back to office come 23rd January, 2019.

The convener, Mr Olayemi Success, at a press conference in Abuja, said re-electing President Buhari back to office would “comfortably consolidate the achievements of this government for the progress and development of our Nation.”

He said, as a coalition, they were presenting their holistic review and conclusion on the anti-corruption war of President Buhari in the last three and half years of his presidency.

“Knowing well that integrity, honesty and abounding will are the major ingredients of anti-corruption war and without any doubt, he has the major ingredients as this is confirmed by the successes recorded in the fight against corruption.

“Some of the achievements include the full enforcement of BVN and TSA, securing the conviction of some politically exposed person, recovery of many looted and abandoned funds via whistle blowing policy,” he said.

Mr Success said: “Nigeria’s image has improved greatly amongst the international community especially as President Buhari has been identified as a true anti-corruption champion and appointed by Africa Union (AU).

“This has given birth to the willingness of many countries to do business with Nigerians and invest more in Nigeria. The respect and trust in our leaders by the western world is high, hence the reason for the repatriation of some looted funds back to our economy.”

He said, with the aforementioned reasons, the coalition had passed a vote of confidence on President Buhari, affirming him as a true, sincere and genuine anti-corruption champion.
