A civil society organisation, Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI), on Sunday called for an explanation in the 2024 budget proposal submitted by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to the Kwara House of Assembly.
The governor had last week laid a fiscal plan of N296.4 billion for next year, with capital expenditure getting 61 per cent while recurrent expenditure got 39 per cent.
In a statement on Sunday by its Global Director, Mr Abideen Olasupo, the civil rights group raised concern over “some vague and frivolous items in the proposed budget” and demanded clarification from the government.
It listed some of the explanations including missing overhead descriptions, unclear and non-specific line items, and repetitive and frivolous items.
