CSO picks holes in proposed N296.4b Kwara 2024 budget

A civil society organisation, Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI), on Sunday called for an explanation in the 2024 budget proposal submitted by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to the Kwara House of Assembly.

The governor had last week laid a fiscal plan of N296.4 billion for next year, with capital expenditure getting 61 per cent while recurrent expenditure got 39 per cent.

In a statement on Sunday by its Global Director, Mr Abideen Olasupo, the civil rights group raised concern over “some vague and frivolous items in the proposed budget” and demanded clarification from the government.

On the second call, Olukoju said, “I have read it and will get back to you on it.” She was however yet to do so before the filing of this report Sunday evening.
