The Initiative for Civil Values and Good Governance has raised the alarm and petitioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the Gestapo-style abduction of its Director General, Prince Anthony Idikwu, by a joint task force of the Police and DSS from his home in the Garki area of Abuja.
In a statement issued by the organisation on Monday, the Head of Administration, Mr Emmanuel Ogbogu, said, “Members of the task force arrived at Mr Tony’s home around 9:30 pm on Friday night and, without identifying themselves, broke down the door to his apartment and abducted him”.
“Efforts by neighbours and family members to ask them to identify themselves and their station led to the assault of these neighbours and family members who insisted until the men claimed they were from Police/DSS joint task force”, the statement continued.
Mr Ogbogu said since the arrest on Friday night, efforts by the family to identify his whereabouts have remained fruitless even after visiting all Police and DSS formations in Abuja.
The Organisation has, therefore, petitioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come to the aid of his sorrowing family and direct the security agencies to either release Mr Idikwu or charge him to Court.
“It is now four days since they took him away violently from his family without any information as to his whereabouts. He did not go with his routine drugs, and nobody knows if he is still alive. The President should intervene urgently and save Prince Tony before it is too late.”
