The FCT Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) has organised an exit training for 1,170 beneficiaries of the Labour Intensive Public Workfare (LIPW) across the six area councils of the territory.
Speaking during the training which was held at the Abaji Town Hall in Abaji Area Council on Saturday, the Manager of LIPW, Mr Samuel Onwuka, who is also the acting General Manager (GM) of the FCT CSDP, said the training was being held simultaneously across the six area councils of the FCT.
He said the exit was organised by CSDP under the NGCARES programme after a rigorous training on various skills for two years.
He said, “What we are doing today is exit training for the beneficiaries of the labour intensive care workfare so that another badge of beneficiaries can also come in. And we have been able to train them on how to make soap, tie/dye and how they can also invest their money into businesses of their choice that will yield them more profit.

“We consider women most because they are more vulnerable in any given society. And we believe that at the end of the day, they will become self-reliant.”
The beneficiaries said they had been able to feel the impact of the programme.
