Crowd will be against France on Sunday – Griezmann

France forward, Antoine Griezmann, has admitted that the fans will be in full support of Argentina when both sides meet in the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tomorrow at the Lusail stadium.

The former Barcelona in a post-match conference further acknowledged that the presence of Lionel Messi will make it more difficult for them but they will devise means to harm the South Americans.

He said “Any team he is in (Messi) is completely different. We have seen all their World Cup matches and we have seen Argentina and know how they play. They are a difficult team who are very much in form.

“They have got Leo but also a good group behind him. They are a group who live well with that. So, it won’t be an easy game, they will have the crowd on their side.

“We will see what we can do and how we can harm them, how we can defend against them,” he said.

He also stated that he was emotional after games and cried after the win over Belgium while hailing Morocco’s fairytale run in the tournament.

“So, we are trying to keep our feet on the ground, stay focused on recovery and start preparing for the game on Sunday.

“Morocco impressed me. They worked very tactically, defensively, offensively. After the half-time, they caused us lots of problems. I think the coach realised that and made a change, playing Marcus Thuram down the left. This worked well for us.

“We needed more help on that side to help Theo defend and then scoring so quickly afterwards, we got control and calmed the game down. After the second goal, we were in a safe position, but we know that all games are complicated. It doesn’t mean anything, a reaction to a shot and few other things can be serious in a game,” he concluded.
