The Supreme Court has reserved judgment in the appeal challenging the election of Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River state.
A five-member panel led by Justice Inyang Okoro reserved the judgment on Thursday after listening to parties in the matter.
Sources in the apex court, however, confirmed that the judgment will be delivered on Friday after judgments in the appeals of Kano, Plateau and Zamfara states.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Cross River, Senator Sandy Onor, had filed the appeal challenging the election of Governor Otu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Arguing the appeal, counsel to the PDP and Onor, Joshua Musa (SAN), alleged that Otu provided a forged certificate and was not validly nominated for the March 18 election.
However, counsel to Otu said the appellants failed to establish the allegations of forgery and non-membership of the APC against the governor and urged the apex court to dismiss the appeal.
