Crisis: No plans to shut down Benue markets —Police

Spokesman of the command, Daniel Ezeala, said the rumour was a lie, orchestrated by mischievous persons who don’t mean well for the state.
He therefore advised residents to disregard the rumour and go about their lawful businesses without any fear.
Our correspondent, who visited major markets in the state capital, was told by some traders that markets and schools would not open because of “severe fighting expected to take place between farmers and herdsmen.
But, Ezeala has assured of heavy police presence in the state capital, urging residents to take their children to school.
Earlier at the weekend, the DIG (Operations) Abuja, Mike Zuokomor, intimated newsmen of the deployment of more policemen to the state to ensure safety of lives and property.
