The Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a multi-security taskforce maintaining peace in Plateau and some parts of Bauchi and Kaduna states, has organised a marathon for the residents of Plateau State.
The race which was organised across sector commands of the operation, is aimed at enhancing peaceful coexistence among the residents of the state.

The state had in recent times witnessed series of ethno-religious conflicts that left many people killed and properties destroyed.
Major General Ibrahim S. Ali, General Officer Commanding 3 Division, who doubled as commander of the operation said the 50km race was meant to strengthen peace and harmony in the state especially in the crisis area.
The GOC noted that sports has been a tool used to ensure mutual understanding among people, adding that it could be used in places affected by wars, ethnic conflicts, natural disasters, and poverty.
