Argentine football legend, Hernan Crespo, yesterday joined former Super Eagles player and coach Samson Siasia and hundreds of Nigerian fans to watch the historic UEFA Champions League final match between Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Crespo, who was a former Chelsea and AC Milan striker, welcomed football fans into the Ocean View Ground, of Eko Hotel and Suites, in Lagos, as they watched the epic pitch encounter together.

The premium football viewing event, organised by Heineken, a premium brand of the Nigerian Breweries PLC, was truly a memorable night of drama and action.

The 2017/2018 UCL final saw Coach Zinedine Zidane led Real Madrid team beat the Liverpool team to cart home the UEFA Cup after a 3-1 win.

The match which was 0-0 at half time, produced a total of 4 goals in the second half, with the Spanich team scoring the first in the 50th minute courtesy of Karim Benzema.

Although the Liverpool team quickly equalized through Sadio Mane in the 54th minute, Madrid’s super substitute, Gareth Bale, who came in at the 62nd minute scored two beautiful goals to put the game beyond the English side, effectively handing Real Madrid FC its 13th UCL title, and the 4th win in the past 5 seasons.

At the event, the trio of sports broadcaster, Moses Praiz, Crespo and Siasia, provided expert analysis and made predictions during half time before the game ended.

While guests enjoyed playing various fun activities like table soccer, and video games, among others, famous DJ Neptune and hype man, Shody, further galvanizing the excited crowd during the post-match after-party to create a carnival-like atmosphere for the Lagos fans.

It will be recalled that Crespo, arrived Lagos, Nigeria last Thursday, and had spent time visiting leading art, culture, lifestyle, and educational centre across the city, as well as Terra Kulture to view  stunning artworks on display.

He also paid surprise visits to four lucky football fans in their offices in various parts of Lagos, delivering to the delighted fans exclusive front row invites to the UCL Final live match viewing experience.

Yesterday’s event followed successful live viewings of UEFA Champions League matches by fans in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, which were hosted by NB.
