CPC sensitises on harmful usage of pesticides

The Director General of CPC, Mrs Dupe Atoki, said at the occasion that inappropriate usage of pesticides may in the medium and long term contribute tremendously to environmental degradation.
She said the proactive step taken by the council is to ensure the safety of every person and the sustainability of the environment, adding that the preservation of the environment is a collective responsibility.
“As pesticides users, it is therefore expected that standard ones as approved by regulating agencies are used so as to avoid damage to health and environment,” Atoki said
She enjoined the participants and the general public to preserve the environment by adhering to safe usage of chemicals in their farms and abodes noting that this will reduce accidents and death as well as make the environment a healthy one.
