Police in Kano have arrested one Sadam Habu, a native of Adamawa State and a security man at Asia Plastic Company located in Jigawa, Gezewa LGA for allegedly stolen a huge amount of money from the company.

Habu is suspected to have broken into the cashier’s office and taken away large sums of money contained in a box and thereafter set the office ablaze.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, in a statement, said upon receipt of the report, Police Commissioner, Salman Dogo, dispatched DPO Gezewa, CSP Haruna Ilyasu, to the scene and the suspect was arrested while trying to escape with the money.

Kiyawa said the money had been recovered from the suspect and investigation into the incident has begun.

The police spokesman also said a suspected notorious mobile phone thief, Yakubu Kabiru was arrested with five mobile phones suspected to be stolen.

The suspect, according to Kiyawa, had confessed to the crime and will soon be charged to court.
