Governnor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State has relaxed the lockdown he enforced in the state last week.
The order relaxing the lockdown was contained in a statement issued by the chief press secretary to the Governor, Mallam Hassan Mijinyawa, Wednesday night.
The statement said the period of the lockdown, which was earlier from dusk to dawn, has now been reduced to 8am to 2pm.
The statement further explained that the restriction of vehicular movement has been removed.
The government advised people in the state to avoid large gatherings and also maintain social distance.
The governor said he was not unmindful of sufferings caused by the lockdown to members of the public, adding that it was enforced to protect lives.
Darius also expressed appreciation to members of the public for their cooperation and support during the lockdown.
There are 1,484,811 cases of coronavirus in the world but 329,876 patients have recovered. However, 88,538 of those infected have died.
In Nigeria there are 276 confirmed cases, 44 recovery and 6 deaths recorded.
Taraba has however, not recorded any case.
