The Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) in Ogun State on Friday ordered churches in the state to shut down all activities, including House Fellowships, as part of further steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
This was contained in a statement issued in Abeokuta by the CAN State Chairman, Bishop Tunde Akin – Akinsanya.
Akin – Akinsanya said in view of the fast spreading of the virus, Christians should apply the Godly wisdom as contained in the book of Isaiah 26:20 and stay indoor for a while until the danger posed by the COVID – 19 passed away.
The CAN Chairman also implored all Christians and church leaders to comply with the order as well as those from the state government regarding measures to stay safe and prevent the spread of the COVID – 19.
“This too shall pass in the precious name of our Lord Jesus. We watch and we pray.
“Please, let us ensure that we comply fully with this order and ensure compliance with the state government’s directives. House Fellowships are also discouraged to ensure full compliance. Law enforcement officers have government’s instructions to enforce this directives,” the statement said.
