Red Cross International has stationed officers and volunteers at entrants of some General Hospitals and markets in Katsina state to ensure people get sanitised before entry.
Speaking during the flagoff of the exercise in Katsina, Dr Aliyu Funtua, said the drive became imperative to protect both patients and care-givers at hospitals and parks in the state.
He said the move is to support government in its fight against the coronavirus pandemic in the state, saying “we all have a little to do to show concern and support in this trying moments.”
“We will sustained this to ensure the protection and carry out sensitization to places we believe are vulnerable like parks; try as much to avoid them,” he said.
Daily Trust reports that Katsina has so far recorded 7 cases of COVID-19 with one death since the outbreak of the pandemic in Daura town which is presently under government’s lockdown.
