COVID-19: NYSC members donate face masks to markets

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) committee on the control and prevention of COVID-19 in Benue State has donated 500 pieces of facemasks to four markets in Makurdi.

The items which were produced by corps members in the state were aimed at ensuring safety of both traders and buyers against the disease.

Donating the materials to the chairmen of the markets, representative of the corps members, Dr. Christiana, urged the traders to observe all guidelines given by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The State Coordinator of NYSC, Shicha Joshua Simon, who was present at the event, said that the donation was part of the corps members’ contributions to the fight against COVID-19 in the state.

Receiving the items, Chairman of Wurukun Market, thanked the corps members for the gesture, saying the items will assist the traders in the containment of the pandemic.
